Some important events of Rabi’-ul-Awwal
5th Rabi’-ul-Awwal 50 AH Day of passing of Imam Hassan رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ
The grandson of the Messenger, the fragrant flower of the garden of Fatimah and Ali, Sayyiduna Imam Hasan Mujtaba رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ was poisoned and martyred on 5th Rabi’-ul-Awwal 50 AH (For further information, see ‘Monthly Magazine Faizan-e-Madinah’ Rabi’-ul-Awwal 1438, 1439 and 1441 AH).
10th Rabi’-ul-Awwal passing of the son of the Messenger of Allah
On 10th Rabi’-ul-Awwal 10AH, the youngest son of the Noble Messenger صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, Sayyiduna Ibrahim رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ passed away. (For further information, see Zurqaani alal-Mawahib, vol. 3, p. 349; Seerat-e-Mustafa p. 690)
12th Rabi’-ul-Awwal Birth of the Messenger of Allah
Our Beloved Prophet, the King of Madinah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم was born 55 days after the incident of the Year of the Elephant on 12th Rabi’-ul-Awwal in Makkah-tul-Mukarramah at the blessed house of Sayyidatuna Aaminah رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهَا at the time of Dawn. Month of Rabi’-ul-Awwal Construction of Masjid-e-Quba
In the 13th year of the proclamation of Prophethood, the King of Madinah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم migrated to Madinah and reached Quba on the 12th of Rabi’-ul-Awwal, the place where he laid the foundations of the Masjid and personally participated in its construction with the Sahabah. This Masjid is still known today as ‘Masjid-e-Quba’.
Rabi’-ul-Awwal 3 AH Marriage of Umm-e-Kulsoom
The Holy Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم gave his daughter, Sayyidatuna Umm-e-Kulsoom رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْھَا, in marriage to the possessor of the two lights, the compiler of the Holy Quran, Ameer-ul-Mu`mineen Sayyiduna Usman Ghani رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ in Rabi-ul-Awwal 3 AH.
