Quran, Allah has promised to wipe out shortcomings, forgive sins, and bestow a great bounty in the form of Paradise.

In verse 8 of Sūrat Taḥrīm, it states:

یٰۤاَیُّہَا  الَّذِیۡنَ  اٰمَنُوۡا تُوۡبُوۡۤا  اِلَی اللّٰہِ تَوۡبَۃً  نَّصُوۡحًا ؕ     عَسٰی رَبُّکُمۡ  اَنۡ یُّکَفِّرَ عَنۡکُمۡ سَیِّاٰتِکُمۡ وَ یُدۡخِلَکُمۡ جَنّٰتٍ تَجۡرِیۡ  مِنۡ تَحۡتِہَا الۡاَنۡہٰرُ ۙ

Translation from Kanz al-Īmān: O believers! Repent to Allah with such repentance which becomes advice for the future; it is close that your Lord may remove your sins and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow.^[1]

Dear Islamic brothers! There is mention of تَوْبَۃُالنَّصُوح in this verse. The second caliph of Islam, Amīr al-Muʾminīn Sayyidunā ʿUmar bin Khaṭṭāb رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ, was asked regarding تَوْبَۃً نَصُوْحا, to which he said, “This means a person makes such a repentance from an evil deed of his that he never returns to that sin again.”

The Companion ʿAbd Allah bin Masʿūd رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ reports that the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, “تَوْبَۃً نَصُوْ حا is a repentance by means of which all sins are forgiven.”^[2]

Benefits of repentance (tawbah)

Dear Islamic brothers! Certainly, there are many benefits of sincere repentance:
