Book Name:Shab e Barat Kese Guzarain

We come to know that on the Day of Judgement, our wealth and children will be of no use; it is only a pure heart that will benefit. What is a pure heart, you may ask? It is the heart which is free from shirk, disbelief and corrupt beliefs. It is the heart which is not affected by spiritual illnesses. It is not filled with jealousy, malice and love for this world. Ultimately, the one who possesses a pure heart will be successful on the Day of Judgement.

The most superior of people

Sayyidunā ʿAbd Allah b. ʿUmar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ explains:

It was asked from the Messenger of Allah  صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم , اَیُّ النَّاسِ اَفْضَلُ؟  - ‘Which of the people is best?’ He replied: کُلُّ مَخْمُوْمِ الْقَلْبِ، صُدُوقُ اللِّسَانِ - ‘Everyone who is makhmūm al-qalb and ṣudūq al-lisān.’ They said: ‘We know what ṣudūq al-lisān (truthful in speech) means, but what is meant by makhmūm al-qalb?’ He said: ‘It is the pious individual who has no sin; whose heart does not contain rebellion, animosity or jealousy.’[1]

سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه! We learn that the one who possesses a truthful tongue and whose heart is free from rebellion, animosity, hatred and envy is an individual of great virtue.

The Companion Anas bin Mālik رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ relays:

We were with Allah’s Messenger صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم when he said, یَطْلُعُ عَلَیْکُمُ الْآن مِنْ هٰذَا الْفَجِّ رَجُلٌ مِنْ اَهْلِ الْجَنَّۃِ – “A man of Paradise will now pass by you on this path.” An Anṣāri Companion رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ then passed
