Ramzan Kaise Guzare

Book Name:Ramzan Kaise Guzare

In the same way, we should encourage our Islamic brothers to offer salah punctually in Ramaḍān. This is a good deed with huge reward. With just a little effort from us, if an Islamic brother then goes on to learn how to recite the Quran and offer salah correctly, we hope to earn a huge treasure of reward by the mercy of Allah.

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب    صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

What the pious would do in Ramaḍān

Dear Islamic brothers! We have listened to the virtues and excellences of performing good deeds during this blessed month. This has hopefully given us the mindset to use these precious moments effectively. In order to encourage us further, let us now discuss how the pious people of this ummah would spend Ramaḍān.

Passion for reciting the Quran

1.   The renowned Imam Abū Ḥanīfah رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه would recite the entire Quran 62 times over the course of Ramaḍān and Eid al-Fiṭr (He would complete it once during the day, once during the night, once throughout the entire course of tarāwīḥ and once on the day of Eid).[1]

2.   Imam Shāfiʿi رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه would recite the entire Quran 60 times during Ramaḍān, all of which were read in salah.[2]

3.   The Tābiʿi Aswad bin Yazīd رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه would recite the entire Quran every other night of Ramaḍān and only rest in the time between maghrib and ʿishā. In other months, he would complete the Quran in six nights.[3]
