of Allah Almighty is above everything else. Allah Almighty states in the holy Quran:

وَ رِضْوَانٌ مِّنَ اللّٰہِ اَکْبَرُ ؕ

the pleasure of Allah is the greatest ˹matter˺,^[1]

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                     صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Worshipping for the sake of Allah Almighty

O devotees of the Prophet! To gain the pleasure of Allah Almighty, we must first gain necessary knowledge and then worship Him according to it. This is because for acts of worship to be accepted, they must be carried out in the way that the shariah has stipulated. Gaining knowledge and then worshipping Allah Almighty is a means of avoiding Satan’s trap. It is also a means of gaining closeness to Allah Almighty, attaining cure from the sickness of sins, rectifying the inner and outer, and refreshing the soul.

This is why our pious predecessors رَحِمَهُمُ الـلّٰـهُ  were always engaged in the worship of Allah Almighty in accordance with the requirements of knowledge and rulings of shariah. Alongside fulfilling their obligations, they would strive to perform abundant voluntary acts of worship to gain the pleasure of Allah Almighty. Let us listen to some of the accounts of our pious predecessors رَحِمَهُمُ الـلّٰـهُ in this regard.
