Mohabbat e Auliya Ke Fazail

or financial dealings, love one another solely for the sake of Allah Almighty."[1]

O those who love Allah’s Messenger!  While it is true that, by the grace of Allah Almighty, we have benefitted greatly from the saints of Islam, let us reflect for but a moment.

How many of us have received a plot of land from Ghawth al-Aʿẓam رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه? Who among us had a dream in which Imam Aḥmad Razā Khān رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه gave us a cheque for a million pounds? There is certainly nobody like this. Then, why do we love the saints?

To answer this question, let’s begin with a simple question of our own: who was king during the era of Ghawth al-Aʿẓam رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه? A huge majority of people do not even know the names of kings from that time, but astonishingly, we know the name of Ghawth al-Aʿẓam رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه.  We know his blessed biography. We know his miracles. We hold gatherings commemorating him on the 11th date of Islamic months.

Why is this? Ask your heart, and it will give only one answer:Ghawth al-Aʿẓam رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه was a pious servant of Allah Almighty. He used to worship at night. He used to fast. He used to perform salah. In other words, because he was a beloved servant of Allah Almighty, we love him.

And those who love each other only to please Allah Almighty; what is their status? The Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم explained: "Their faces will shine with light, they will be surrounded by light, they will be fearless when others are afraid, and they will be free from sadness when others are sad."[2]
