Shade under the Throne

سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه Dear Islamic brothers! Those who love the saints will attain untold goodness. As narrated in Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, the Greatest Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, “Allah shall certainly declare on the Day of Judgement, ‘Where are those who loved one other for the sake of My Majesty? Today, when there is no other shade, I shall grant them the shade of My Throne.’”[1]

Luminous pillars of Paradise

The Companion Abū Hurayra رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ narrates how the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: “Indeed, in Paradise, there are pillars made of ruby, with chambers made of emeralds upon them. Their doors are open and they shine like stars.” It was asked, “Who will reside in them, O Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم?” He صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم replied,الْمُتَحَابُّونَ فِي اللَّهِ  – “Those who love each other to please Allah.”[2]

سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه What an honour! Loving the saints leads to unparalleled and priceless reward. But behold, Allah Almighty's gifts are countless. Commenting on this hadith, Mufti Aḥmad Yār Khān Naʿīmī رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه writes:

This reward is for loving one another only to please Allah Almighty. As for the deeds done out of this love (such as holding gatherings commemorating the saints, reciting the noble Quran to convey rewards to them, distributing food, feeding the hungry, and striving to perform righteous deeds like them), these actions have their separate rewards.[3]
