a woollen tent, and in the tent was an elderly man, an elderly woman and a girl. He sought permission from the elderly man and then entered the deserted area with his companions.

The notable and rich people of the city came to him and requested him to come to their homes or to a better residence, but he refused. The overseer of the city sent him lots of cows, goats, food, gold, silver, supplies, riding animals, and many people came to serve him. He said to his companions, “I have given up my share of these things for the people of this home.” Hearing these words, they also gave up their shares. So, in this manner, all of these goods ended up being given to the elderly man, elderly woman and the girl. He stayed there for the night and departed in the morning.

Many years later, I passed by that city and saw that the elderly man was the richest resident in the city. He said to me, “This is all the blessing of that night; those cows and goats gave birth, and their offspring grew up. These are from among them.[1]

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                     صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Dear Islamic brothers, bringing the speech to a close, I will now have the honour of mentioning some important rulings and etiquettes of pledging allegiance to a spiritual guide:

*    In this world, we should take a righteous person as a leader; this is through taqlīd in Islamic Law and through pledging allegiance
