It is mentioned on page 36 of the book Karaamaat-e-Sahabah, which is a publication of Maktaba-tul-Madinah:

If such an extraordinary occurrence, which is not habitually observed, emanates from a righteous believer it is known as a karāmah (marvel). If such an amazing occurrence manifests from the noble Prophets عَـلَـيْـهِمُ الـصَّلٰوةُ وَالـسَّـلَام before the announcement of Prophethood, it is called irhāṣ, and if it happens after the announcement of Prophethood it is known as muꜤjizah. If this emanates from a common believer, it is referred to as maꜤūnah. If something like this occurs for a non-Muslim in agreement with that which he desires, it is known as istidrāj.[1]

The erudite Hanafi jurist, Muftī Amjad ꜤAlī al-AꜤẓamī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه states,

The marvels of the saints are a reality, and the one who denies this is misguided.[2]

There are many types of marvels, such as giving life to the dead, curing the blind and lepers, traversing long distances in a few moments, walking on water, flying in the sky, knowing what is in a person’s heart, seeing things from far away, and many others.

Dear Islamic brothers, you have heard that there are various types of marvels, and Allah Almighty favoured and graced Shaykh ꜤAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه with more marvels than any other saint. He gave life to the dead, granted sight to the blind and cured the lepers. He aided those who were sick and concerned, helped those who called out to him from afar and fulfilled the wishes of the needy. He came to know of what people were thinking, removed the difficulties of those who came to him and gazed with generosity upon thieves, causing them to become
