torment will be the lightest.[1]
* In a sacred Hadith, it is mentioned that even this world’s fire (whose heat and intensity we are all aware of) supplicates to Allah Almighty not to be returned to Hell.[2]
Sadly, it is astonishing how humans engage in actions that lead to Hell and yet do not fear its fire, which even the fire of this world fears and seeks refuge from.[3]
The dreadful state of the people of Hell
Sayyidunā ꜤAmr b. al-ꜤĀṣ رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ narrates:
Out of desperation due to the torment, the people of Hell will call out to the angel Sayyidunā Mālik عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم, who is appointed at the gates of Hell. He will not respond to them for forty years, after which he will reply, اِنَّکُمْ مَاکِثُوْنَ "Indeed, you are to remain [here forever]." Then, the people of Hell will begin calling upon Allah Almighty, but Allah Almighty will also not respond to them. Finally, after a long period, it will be said to them, "Remain, in Hell, despised! Do not speak to Me!"[4]
Dear Islamic brothers, reflect on how terrifying Hell is...!! These are the things that have been revealed to us through traditions; otherwise, in a noble Hadith, it is mentioned, "However much you recall Hell, whatever you imagine about it, it is more severe than that."[5]
