So, Sayyidunā Dhū al-Nūn al-Miṣrī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه stood, raised his hands and supplicated, “O Allah Almighty, just as you have granted them happiness in this world, grant them happiness in the Hereafter too.”

His disciples were stunned to hear this supplication of his. When the ship came closer and the gaze of those aboard fell upon Sayyidunā Dhū al-Nūn al-Miṣrī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه, they all began to weep. They broke their musical instruments, repented sincerely and adopted the path of righteousness.

Sayyidunā Dhū al-Nūn al-Miṣrī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه then said to his disciples, “The joys of the Hereafter are attained through repenting in this world.”[1]

سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه! What a beautiful mindset. If anyone mistreats us or upsets us, instead of saying, “May Allah Almighty destroy you,” we should say, “May Allah Almighty guide you.” Like this, the person will be rectified and your grief will also be removed. Rather than supplicating  against our Muslim brothers, it is better if we adopt a positive approach and supplicate for their guidance. اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه We will witness the blessings of this.

Avoid suspicion

Dear Islamic brothers! One aspect of a negative mindset is bad opinion of others. Remember this is forbidden and an act which leads to Hell. Allah Almighty states in the  Quran:

یٰۤاَیُّہَا الَّذِیْنَ  اٰمَنُوا اجْتَنِبُوْا کَثِیْرًا مِّنَ الظَّنِّ ۫ اِنَّ  بَعْضَ الظَّنِّ اِثْمٌ

O you who believe! Refrain from excessive speculation ˹for˺ some speculation is sinful[2]

Dear Islamic brothers! In this verse, we have been prohibited from being overly suspicious, as some suspicion is a sin. Remember, there are
