Some will be raised dumb and deaf, and they will understand nothing.

Some will be chewing their tongues, which will be hanging beyond their chests. They will be drooling, and people will abhor them.

Some will be raised with hands and feet severed.

Some will be hanging from branches of fire.

Some will be raised smelling fouler than carrion.  

Some will wear a cloak of tar which will stick to their skin.

[Then the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم explained why they will be raised this way:]

1.      The people who are raised as monkeys are backbiters.

Those who are turned into pigs dealt with usury, earnt forbidden wealth and charged oppressive taxes.

The people whose limbs are inverted, head down and feet above, devoured interest.

The people who are raised blind made unjust judgements.

The people who are raised deaf and dumb were victims of self-praise when they performed good deeds.

The people who will be chewing their tongues are the preachers who did not act upon what they taught.

The people raised with severed hands and feet are those who hurt their neighbours.
