یَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ الْمُتَّقِیْنَ اِلَی الرَّحْمٰنِ وَفْدًا (ۙ۸۵) وَّ نَسُوْقُ الْمُجْرِمِیْنَ اِلٰی جَہَنَّمَ وِرْدًا (ۘ۸۶)
(Remember) The Day We will gather the righteous towards the Infinitely Gracious as guests. And We shall drag the wrongdoers towards Hell (Jahannam) as a thirsty herd.[1]
(اللہُ اللہُ This verse tells us that those who are righteous, refrain from sin and perform good deeds, will enter the court of Allah as guests, whereas sinners will be herded into hell.)
Upon hearing this verse, Sayyidunā Miswar رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه said with humility, “I am a grave sinner and not a righteous man. O reciter of the Quran, recite these verses again.” When the verses were recited again, he was overwhelmed with the fear of Allah Almighty and let out a cry before his soul left his body.[2]
اللہُ اکبر! May we also be granted fear of Allah Almighty, fear of the terrifying solitude of the grave and fear of standing before Allah Almighty on the Day of Judgement. We do not know about Allah’s hidden plan for us and whether we will be raised from our graves in a good manner and be deserving of His mercy or brought out as sinners. If we are raised as transgressors on the Day of Judgement, it will certainly be a cause of severe misfortune.
O devotees of the Prophet! When the people are resurrected and rise from their graves, what would you desire for yourself? Do you want to be raised with your good deeds giving you glad tidings, or do you wish to be met by your dreadful and foul-smelling bad deeds causing you
