will forgive them permanently.”^[1]

*    It is a Sunnah for the people who are carrying the deceased to walk ten steps then rotate to the next corner. The complete Sunnah is to start at the corner to the right side of the head, then move to the right side of the feet, then to the left side of the head and then to the left side of the feet. Ten steps should be taken at each corner, and this will complete the 40 steps.^[2]

*    It is forbidden to push people and cause them harm deliberately whilst carrying the deceased as some people do at the funerals of famous personalities.

*    A husband can carry the coffin of his deceased wife on his shoulders, lower her into the grave and look at her face. It is impermissible for him to wash her and touch her without a barrier.^[3]

*    It is permissible to recite the two testimonies of faith, praise of Allah Almighty and Prophetic odes aloud during the funeral procession.^[4]

Supplication for protection against bad character

In accordance with the schedule of Dawat-e-Islami’s weekly Sunnah inspired gathering, the supplication for protection from bad character will be taught. It is as follows:
