smell. When they arrive at the plains of judgement, dining mats full of food will be laid out for them. They will be told, “Eat, for you remained hungry when others ate to their fill. Drink, for you remained thirsty when others drank to their fill.” These fortunate people will eat, drink and rest whilst others are fatigued, thirsty and being held accountable.[1]
سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه! Dear Islamic brothers! These are simple deeds with great virtues. Recite the testimony of faith, and you will not grieve or fear at the time of death, in the grave, or on the Day of Judgement اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه. Make a habit of delivering the adhan, and you will be raised whilst reciting it on the Day of Judgement. Pray the five prayers in congregation, perform ablution, and arrive at the masjid before the azan is announced. If Allah Almighty wills, you will be raised on the Day of Judgement with a luminous face. Make a habit of observing optional fasts along with the obligatory fasts of Ramadan. Fast every day if your health permits and if it does not hinder the fulfilment of your obligations. If this is not possible, fast at least once a week every Monday, as the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would fast every Monday.[2] Make a habit of fasting every Thursday and the 13th, 14th and 15th of every month as well. If Allah Almighty wills, you will be raised with the smell of musk emanating from your mouth. The people on the Day of Judgement will smell this fragrance, and when they are in fear, suffering from the severe heat of the fierce sun, hungry, thirsty and being held accountable, drenched in their sweat, the people who fasted will be eating on dining mats without fear. May Allah Almighty grant us the ability to act upon these good deeds.
