The earth

The earth we walk upon every day and feel no shame in front of, the earth upon which we commit permissible and unlawful deeds is unable to show its discontent towards our actions in this world. However, it will testify against us on the Day of Judgement. Allah Almighty states:

یَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ  اَخْبَارَہَا ۙ(۴)

On that Day, the earth will narrate (all) its news.[1]

Sayyidunā Abū Hurairah رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ stated:

The final Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم recited this verse:

یَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ  اَخْبَارَہَا ۙ(۴)

On that Day, the earth will narrate (all) its news.[2]

Then he said, “Do you know what the earth’s news is?” The beloved Companions رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهُم replied, “Allah and His Messenger صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم know best.” The Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم explained, “Indeed its news is that it will testify against every servant, male and female. It will say that he did such-and-such on such-and-such day. This is its news.”[3]

Making the pathway a witness of him remembering Allah Almighty

Sayyidunā Abū al-Malīḥ رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه had a habit of remembering Allah Almighty when he was travelling. If he forgot to perform dhikr, he
