it with love. Then he said: “Its paws have touched the places where the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم walked; its paws should be kissed!”^[1]

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                 صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Five actions of the honourable sheikh

Dear Islamic brothers, Mawlana Ilyas Attar al-Qadiri دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ is very mindful of showing respect when in Madinah:

1.   He refrains from turning his back towards the Green Dome as much as possible.

2.   He respects everything of Madinah.

3.   He applies the soil of Madinah to his eyes similar to how one applies kohl to the eyes. On one occasion, he applied soil to his eyes that the pigeons of Madinah had walked upon.

4.   Whenever he mentions something associated with Madina, he chooses his words wisely out of respect. For example, whenever he mentions the direction of Madinah or anything in it, he will say it is on the “right” side. If something is in the other direction, he says it is in the direction of the heart.

5.   Another beautiful action of the honourable sheikh is that he makes the pebbles, rocks and trees of Madinah witnesses to his faith.

May Allah Almighty grant us the ability to respect Madinah and everything associated with the Prophet  صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم .

اٰمِیْن بِجَاہِ النَّبِیِّ الْاَمِیْن صلَّی اللہ عَلَیْہِ واٰلہٖ وسلَّم
