Book Name:Ameer e Ahl e Sunnat Ka Ishq e Madina

Madinah is the city of faith

O lovers of the Prophet! Love for Madinah is a sign of complete faith and love for the Prophet  صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم . May Allah Almighty grant us immense love for Madinah. It is stated in the Quran:

وَ الَّذِیۡنَ  تَبَوَّؤُ الدَّارَ وَ الۡاِیۡمَانَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِمۡ

Translation from Kanz al-Īmān: And those (i.e. the Ansaar) who made homes in this city (of Madinah) and in faith (i.e. became Muslims) before (the arrival of the immigrants).[1]

ꜤAllāmah al-Bayḍāwī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه writes: “In this verse, Allah Almighty has declared Madinah to be īmān (or dār al-īmān). This is because īmān spread from Madinah and will return to it too.”[2]

It is mentioned in a Hadith that the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said:

اَلْمَدِیْنَۃُ دَارُ الْاِیْمَان

“Madinah is the abode of faith.”[3]

Madinah is also known as the heart of faith (قَلْبُ الْاِیْمان). Hence, Madinah is the abode of faith, and the heart of faith. How can one possess faith but not love the abode and heart of faith? Hence, loving Madinah is a sign of complete faith. We should strive to increase our love for Madinah and shed tears due to our separation from this city. How can we achieve this level of love? Here are some Madanī pearls from the speeches of Mawlana Ilyas Attar al-Qadiri دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ in this regard.
