رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ has said: “It is worship to look at a Sunni with sound beliefs who propagates the Sunnah and prohibits innovation.”

From amongst those who are leading the way in spreading the Sunnah in today’s day and age, the name of Mawlana Ilyas Attar al-Qadiri  دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ comes to mind. Based on the narration of Sayyidunā Abdullah bin ꜤAbbās رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ, looking at the face of this honourable individual is an act of worship.

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                 صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

A brief introduction to Mawlana Ilyas Attar al-Qadiri دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ 

*   He was born on Wednesday 26^th of Ramadan 1369 AH (12 July 1950). His birth took place shortly before the time of maghrib in Karachi, Pakistan.

*   His appellation is Abu Bilal, and his pseudonym is Attar.

*   He has been easy-going since childhood. The people of his neighbourhood state that if someone hit him or told him off, he was not vindictive. Instead, he remained silent and patient. They also mention how they never saw him insult or fight anyone.

*   The honourable sheikh had a desire to gain the knowledge of Islam from a young age. He read books and sat in the company of scholars. He remained in the company of the great Mufti of Pakistan, Mufti Waqār al-Dīn Qadirī Razawī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه, for 22 years.

*   Mufti Waqār al-Dīn رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه also granted the honourable sheikh khilāfah and ijāzah.

*   Furthermore, Mufti Sharīf al-Ḥaq Amjadī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه also granted him khilāfah in the four Sufi spiritual orders (Qādiriyyah, Chishtiya, Naqshbandiya and Soharwardiya).
