Blessings will be taken away due to ungratefulness, irrespective of whether a nation is large or small, whether it is the homeland of a Prophet, those who share lineage with the Prophets and even if they are from the family of a Prophet.[1]
Why were the disbelievers of Makkah disgraced at Badr?
The people of Makkah were mainly descendants of Prophet IsmāꜤīl عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام. Allah gave them many blessings and even made them custodians of the KaꜤbah. The people of Makkah had access to every type of fruit and grain, despite being in a land with little vegetation. The doors to excel in trade were opened for them and they were respected by many countries. However, they did not value these blessings.
They made the KaꜤbah a place of shirk and did not believe in the final Prophet of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. They turned away from the word of Allah and oppressed the Companions عَـلَيْهِمُ الرِّضْوَانْ. As a result of this, the disbelievers were defeated and humiliated in the Battle of Badr. Why did this happen? They had a relation to Prophet IsmāꜤīl عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام and they protected the KaꜤbah, so why were they disgraced? It is stated in the Quran:
ذٰلِکَ بِاَنَّ اللّٰہَ لَمۡ یَکُ مُغَیِّرًا نِّعۡمَۃً اَنۡعَمَہَا عَلٰی قَوۡمٍ حَتّٰی یُغَیِّرُوۡا مَا بِاَنۡفُسِہِمۡ ۙ
This is because Allah does not change the favour He has bestowed upon any people until they change themselves [2]
Why were the People of Yemen punished with Floods?
Saba is the name of an Arab tribe who were from the progeny of Prophet Hūd عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام. They lived in an inhabitation in Yemen and Allah granted them many blessings. The water and air of this inhabitation was so pure
