And they offer food, in His love, to the destitute and the orphan and the prisoner. “We only feed you for the sake of Allah. We do not desire recompense from you nor gratitude.[1]

The pious and accepted people in the court of Allah Almighty will be those who fed the poor out of love for Allah Almighty. The sincere say, “We fed you for the pleasure of Allah Almighty and we do not seek your thanks or approval.”

سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه! May Allah grant us the ability to feed others, and to share the blessings we have.

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                     صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Imam Jafar al-ādiq’s remembrance of death

Dear Islamic brothers! Imam JaꜤfar al-Ṣādiq رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه also had a noble habit of remembering death abundantly. He would visit the cemetery in the evening and say, “O people of the grave! What is wrong with you? I call out to you, but you do not respond? Woe to me! There is a veil between you and I, but I will be joining you soon.” He would say this continuously until the morning, after which he would go to the masjid and offer Fajr.[2]

Dear Islamic brothers! Visiting the cemetery in order to remind yourself about the true purpose of life, take admonition and ponder about the condition of people in the graves is a good habit. We often observe the pious visiting the cemetery regularly, rather it is also a Sunnah of the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. We should make a habit of visiting the cemetery from time to time and ponder about the horrors of the grave.
