amount which he can easily meet every month. I myself am a very strict adherent of this and by the grace of Allah Almighty, I receive many virtues of this.’ (Islami Zindagi, p. 133)
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Dear Islamic brothers, after sound faith and correct beliefs, offering Salah is the most important and the greatest act of all the Fard acts. (Bahar-e-Shari’at, vol. 1, p. 433)
The Quran and Hadees are filled with its importance. According to one narration, Salah will be the first thing about which one will be questioned on the Day of Judgement. (Ibn-e-Majah, vol. 2, p. 183, Hadees 1426)
The Quran has emphasised Salah at many places. Our Beloved Prophetصَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم loved Salah immensely. He صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم was asked, ‘what is the most beloved thing to Allah Almighty in Islam?’ The Beloved Prophetصَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم replied: ‘Offering Salah within its time; he who leaves Salah has no religion. Salah is the pillar of the religion’. (Shu’ab-ul-Iman, vol. 3, p. 39, Hadees 2807)
Many accounts regarding the love for Salah are found in the life of Shaykh Abdul Qaadir Jilani رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه as well. Let’s listen to how much importance he gave to offering Salah:
Offering Fajr with the Wudu of Isha Salah
A pious saint رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه has reported: ‘I remained in the service of Shaykh Abdul Qaadir Jilani رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه for 40 years and observed that he رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه always offered Fajr Salah with the Wudu of Isha Salah. It was his routine to make fresh Wudu as soon as it broke, and then he would offer two Rak’aat of Tahiyya-tul-Wudu. After offering Isha Salah, he would enter his designated room, and then he would come out of his room at the time of Fajr Salah.’ (Qalaaid ul-Jawahir, p. 76, summarised)
سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه it is amazing how much love Sayyiduna Ghaus-ul-A’zam رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه had for Salah. If only, for the sake of Ghaus-ul-A’zam رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه, we are also blessed
