Remaining etiquettes of sitting
*After offering Fajr Salah, the Holy Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would remain seated in the crossed legged position until the sun would rise properly. (Abu-Dawood, vol. 4, p. 345, Hadees 4850)
*It is mentioned in the first volume of Jami’ Karamaat-e-Awliya, page no. 67: ‘Imam Yusuf Nabhaani رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه had the habit of sitting in the Tashahhud position (i.e. like one sits in the اَلتَّحِیَّات position in Salah).’
*It is superior to sit in the Tashahhud position even when not offering Salah. (Mirat-ul-Manajih, vol. 8, p. 90)
*The Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would generally sit facing the Qiblah. (Ihya-ul-‘Uloom, vol. 2, p. 449)
*The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: ‘The most honourable sitting in gatherings is the one in which one faces the Qiblah’. (Mu’jam-e-Awsat, vol. 6, p. 161, Hadees 8361)
*Sayyiduna Abdullah Bin ‘Umar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُما would often sit facing the direction of the Qiblah. (Maqasid-e-Hasanah, p. 88)
*The Sunnah way for a preacher and teacher is to keep his back towards the Qiblah while teaching so that those who are acquiring knowledge from him can have their faces turned towards the Qiblah. Therefore, ‘Allamah Hafiz Sakhaawi رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه states: ‘The Holy Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would have his blessed back towards the Qiblah so that those who He صَلَّى
