The reality is that those righteous works through which a person attains fame and praise, they are carried out easily despite being difficult, because the satisfaction that is gained through love for fame makes the greatest of tasks, easy. Remember! Love for fame only results in destruction.

Dear Islamic brothers! Some Madani pearls regarding love for fame are being presented from Ihya-ul-Uloom, volume 3, pages 616 to 617:

(Love for fame and ostentation) are from the destruction of the Nafs and the deception of the inner; the scholars, worshippers and those who traverse the stages of the hereafter are all affected by this. Through this, these people sometimes make great efforts to worship, to control the desires of the Nafs, in fact, they are even successful in saving themselves from doubtful matters, they protect their limbs from outward sins, but they mention their good works, religious achievements and their efforts to spread the call to righteousness in front of the people. For example: I did this, I did that, I had a Bayan there, I had a Bayan there, such-and-such dates are booked for Bayans (and Na’ats), we were in a Madani Mashwarah until such-and-such time at night, and I am tired, which is why my voice is hoarse.

I am travelling in the Madani Qafilah, I have travelled to such-and-such city and such-and-such country for Madani Qafilahs and religious works, etc., and by mentioning these things, they seek comfort for their Nafs, they reveal their knowledge and deeds in order to gain acceptance among the people and the pleasure of the respect and honour they receive from them. When they begin to receive acceptance and fame, their Nafs desires to reveal their knowledge and deeds even more among the people, so that their honour increases even more.
