صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. He  رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه was a true devotee of the Prophet who loved the blessed city of Madinah. Imām Mālik رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه was fully aware of the excellence of the things linked to the final Messenger صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, so he رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه showed utmost respect for hadith narration, he was well known to both the general public and the elite for his services to the Prophetic tradition.  Similarly, he was also deeply inclined to worship, asceticism and recitation of the Holy Quran.

Let us listen to an account of his love for worship, asceticism and Quranic recitation to attain further motivation. May Allah grant us the contentment of worship, and passion for reciting the Quran due to the noble Imām Mālik رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه.

  اٰمِیْن بِجَاہِ النَّبِیِّ الْاَمِیْن صلَّی اللہ علیہ واٰلہٖ وسلَّم 

Some statements regarding the worship and ascetism of Imām Mālik رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه

Qadi ʿIyāḍ Maliki رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه has written:

Sayyidunā Zubayr Bin Ḥabīb رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه has stated, “Whenever a  month^[1] began, Imām Mālik رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه would stay awake on the first night and spend it in worship.” (He further stated:) “I believe he رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه used to engage in worship to welcome the [Islamic] month.”

The daughter of Imām Mālik رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه, the noble Fāṭima bint Mālik رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْهِمَا has stated, “Imām Mālik رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه used to complete his litany every night, and when Friday night would approach, he رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه used to remain engaged in the worship of Allah the whole night.”

Sayyidunā Mughīrah رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه states:
