Funeral Rites Department

Dear Islamic brothers, the Funeral Rites Department of Dawat-e-Islami was established to earn reward by dealing with matters of washing, shrouding, and burying the deceased; and helping grieving Muslims. اَلْـحَمْـدُ لـِلّٰـه This department also organises training sessions and gatherings to convey reward to the deceased. The responsible brothers of this department distribute booklets on these occasions, like “First Night in the Grave”, “Murday kay Sadmay”, “Helplessness of the Deceased”, “Method of Fatiha”, and more.

Details about the grave and burial

Dear Islamic brothers, here are some details about graves and the burial process:

*               It is impermissible to bury more than one person in a grave. However, if there is a need, it is permissible.^[1]

*               It is recommended to place the funeral bier towards the qibla side of the grave, so that the deceased is placed in the grave from the direction of the qibla. The deceased should not be placed in first from the bottom end of the grave.^[2]
