Quranic verses about lying

It is stated in the Quran in verse 30 of Sūrat al-Ḥajj:

Translation from Kanz al-ꜤIrfān: “And avoid false speech.”[1]

The Quran also states in verse 105 of Sūrah al-Nal:

Translation from Kanz al-ꜤIrfān: “Only those who do not believe in Allah's verses attribute false allegation, and only they are liars.”[2]

Mufti Muhammad NaꜤīm al-Dīn Murādābādī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه states regarding the above-mentioned verse, “Lying and making false allegations are the actions of the faithless.”[3]

Imam Fakhr al-Dīn Muhammad b.

This verse is strong proof that lying is the most reprehensible of all the major sins. This is because the people who have the courage to lie or ascribe a lie to someone are those who do not have conviction in the signs of Allah Almighty or are unbelievers, and for Allah Almighty to use words like this in condemnation of lying is a severe warning.[4]
