(1) The one who repents gains success, just as Allah Almighty says:

وَ تُوْبُوْۤا اِلَی اللّٰہِ جَمِیْعًا اَیُّہَ الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ لَعَلَّکُمْ تُفْلِحُوْنَ  (۳۱)

And O Muslims! All of you turn towards Allah in repentance in the hope of attaining success.[1]

(2) Those who repent are beloved to Allah Almighty. It is stated:

اِنَّ اللّٰہَ یُحِبُّ التَّوَّابِیْنَ

Indeed, Allah loves those who repent abundantly.[2]

(3) The mercy of Allah Almighty descends upon the one who repents:

فَمَنْ تَابَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ ظُلْمِہٖ وَ اَصْلَحَ  فَاِنَّ اللّٰہَ یَتُوْبُ عَلَیْہِ ؕ

Thus, the one who repents after his transgression and reforms himself, so, Allah shall pardon him with His mercy[3]

(4) Another benefit of repenting is that a person’s sins are turned into good deeds. Allah Almighty states:

اِلَّا مَنْ تَابَ وَ اٰمَنَ وَ عَمِلَ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا فَاُولٰٓئِکَ یُبَدِّلُ اللّٰہُ سَیِّاٰتِہِمْ  حَسَنٰتٍ ؕ وَ کَانَ  اللّٰہُ  غَفُوْرًا  رَّحِیْمًا (۷۰)
