The remaining sunnahs and etiquettes regarding fragrance

*   A woman is forbidden from using perfume if the smell will reach strange men. If she uses perfume inside the home, and its smell will only reach her husband, children, or parents, then there is no harm.^[1]

*   Islamic sisters should not use perfume that will spread and reach strange men.^[2]

*   The Greatest Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, “When a woman applies perfume and passes by a gathering, she is like such-and-such, i.e. an adulterer.”^[3]

*   It was a blessed habit of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم to apply musk to his blessed head and beard.^[4]

*   Use of air fresheners should be avoided.^[5]
