Your repentance is accepted

The renowned Companion, Sayyidunā Abū Hurayrah رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ, states, “I was once returning after offering ꜤIshāˈ salah behind the Holy Prophet        صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, when I saw a fully covered woman standing at the edge of the path. She called out to me saying, ‘O Abū Hurayrah (رَضِىَ اللهُ عَـنْهُ)! I have committed a grave sin. Will I be forgiven?’ When I asked regarding the sin, she told me about it. So, I said, ‘You are ruined, and you have caused the ruin of others too. [Even after such a major sin, you have hope of repenting] By Allah! There is no repentance for you.’”

Sayyidunā Abū Hurayrah رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ continued, “As soon as the woman heard this, she was overcome with regret and shame. She began to convulse and fell down unconscious. I continued my journey. Then, I remembered that the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is among us, and I gave my judgement without asking him first. Therefore, in the morning, I went to him and mentioned everything that had occurred. Upon this, the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, ‘اِنَّا للہِ وَ اِنَّا اِلَیْہِ رَاجِعُوْن. O Abū Hurayrah! You ruined yourself and placed that woman in ruin too! Do you not remember these words of Allah Almighty:

اِلَّا مَنْ تَابَ وَ اٰمَنَ وَ عَمِلَ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا فَاُولٰٓئِکَ یُبَدِّلُ اللّٰہُ سَیِّاٰتِہِمْ  حَسَنٰتٍ ؕ وَ کَانَ  اللّٰہُ  غَفُوْرًا  رَّحِیْمًا (۷۰)

“Except the one who repents, and believes and does good deeds, Allah will henceforth change the evil deeds of such into virtues; and Allah is Most Forgiving, Ever Merciful.”’[1]

When Sayyidunā Abū Hurayrah رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ heard this verse and the beloved Prophet’s صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم words, he realised that he had informed
