Who is an awwāb?

Dear Islamic brothers, we are sinful people who eventually fall into doing wrong, but we must continue repenting. Allah Almighty states:

فَاِنَّہٗ  کَانَ  لِلْاَوَّابِیْنَ غَفُوْرًا (۲۵)

He is henceforth indeed forgiving to those who repent.[1]

The eminent TābiꜤī Sayyidunā SaꜤīd b. Musayyab رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه said, “In this verse, awwāb refers to the person who commits a sin, then repents, then commits a sin, then repents.”[2]

Continue repenting

Sayyidunā Muḥammad b. Muṭarrif states:

Allah Almighty says to the angels, “Look at the child of Ādam! He sins, then asks Me for forgiveness, so I forgive him. Then he sins again, asks Me for forgiveness again, and I forgive him again. He neither leaves sin, nor does he despair of My mercy. O angels! Bear witness that I have forgiven him.”[3]
