The Companions رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم were exceptional in how they dealt with matters.

It is obvious that the means of communication which are available today were not available then. Nowadays, we have mobile phones, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and many other things. However, carelessness has also increased with this, and people are always sharing wrong information. They have no Islamic knowledge, but if they receive a message or read a post that they like, they will share it with others. It is just a matter of pressing a button, and that wrong message can reach thousands in seconds. Now, who will rectify this? Only if we have Islamic knowledge will we realise we have shared something incorrect.

Sharing an incorrect ruling or attributing something wrong to the religion and spreading it among people is dangerous. Allah Almighty states in the Quran:

وَ مَنْ اَظْلَمُ  مِمَّنِ افْتَرٰی عَلَی اللّٰہِ  کَذِبًا

And who is more unjust than the one who fabricates lie against Allah[1]

So, we come to know that the one who invents lies against Allah Almighty is the most unjust. When we tell someone an Islamic ruling, we are essentially saying to them that Allah Almighty and His Messenger صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم say this about such-and-such thing. Therefore, if the ruling is incorrect, then this will be a lie against Allah Almighty, and the one who invents lies about Allah Almighty is most unjust. We seek Allah’s refuge! May Allah Almighty protect us.

If a person posts an incorrect ruling on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp, or anywhere else, he should clarify it immediately. For
