Anas b. Mālik رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ narrates that when Rajab would come, the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would make this dua:
اَللّٰہُمَّ بَارِکْ لَنَا فِی رَجَبٍ وَّ شَعْبَانَ وَبَلِّغْنَا رَمَضَانَ
O Allah! Bless us in Rajab and ShaꜤbān, and allow us to reach Ramaḍān.[1]
Let’s recite this together.
اَللّٰہُمَّ بَارِکْ لَنَا فِی رَجَب وَّ شَعْبَان وَبَلِّغْنَا رَمَضَان
اٰمِیْنْ بِجَاہِ خاتَمِ النَّبِیّٖن صلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہ ِوَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
May Allah give us ability to respect this sacred month, perform a huge number of good deeds during it, and make the grave and Hereafter our main concern.
Remember, in terms of acts of worship, the first and foremost of them are the farāˈiḍ - obligatory actions. To become righteous and practicing, it is important for us to fulfil our farāˈiḍ.
For example, we should build a habit of offering our five daily salah in the masjid, in congregation. We should give zakat if eligible, make up any fasts we have missed, and perform any other farḍ and wājib actions.
After this, there are many good deeds we can do. If we form the correct mindset and develop a desire for good deeds in our heart, we can gain
