*    Missing fasts is a sin—do not just fast on Thursdays and Fridays, but fast the entire month.

*    Lying is a sin—do not tell a single lie in Ramadan.

*    Backbiting is a sin—avoid it throughout Ramadan.

*    Telling tales is a sin—do not indulge in tale-telling throughout Ramadan.

*    Looking at inappropriate things is a sin—guard your gaze throughout Ramadan. Be cautious while using Facebook, YouTube, and social media platforms, as they can lead to sins.

*    Protect your ears from sins.

*    Protect your hands from sins.

*    In short, protect your entire body from sins and spend Ramadan in righteousness.

The consequences of sinning in Ramadan

The beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: "Whoever commits a sin in Ramadan, Allah Almighty will destroy his good deeds for the entire year. Indeed, Ramadan is the month of Allah, so beware of sinning in it!"[1]

Another hadith states: "Refrain from dishonouring Ramadan, for indeed, in this month, the reward for good deeds increases, as does the severity of sins."[2]
