Dear Islamic brothers, avoiding sins is both an essential and a noble act. Islamic scholars state: "Avoiding sin is more important than doing good deeds."[1]

The Quran and hadith mention numerous worldly and spiritual benefits of avoiding sins, such as being granted:

*    Divine assistance

*    Blessings

*    Relief from worries

*    Worldly and spiritual prosperity

*    Wisdom and understanding

*    Success in every field

*    Ability to influence others

*    Respect among people

*    A good end (death upon faith)

*    Opening of the doors of spiritual enlightenment

*    Acceptance of supplications

*    The experiencing of sweetness in worship

*    Salvation from the torment of Hellfire

*    The record of deeds in the right hand on the Day of Judgment
