* Disgrace and humiliation
* Destruction and ruin
* Diminishing of wisdom and intelligence
* Corruption and disorder in the world
* Erasing of modesty and increase in shamelessness
* Removal of blessings and their replacement with hardships.[1]
The second Caliph of Islam, Sayyidunā ꜤUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ said:
Even if a sin is minor, it brings ten major harms along with it:
1. It incites the wrath of Allah Almighty.
2. It pleases Iblis (Satan).
3. It distances a person from Paradise.
4. It brings one closer to Hell.
5. It is an injustice against oneself.
6. It corrupts and defiles the soul.
7. It causes discomfort to the recording angels.
8. It saddens the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.
9. It makes the earth and sky bear witness against the sinner.
10. It is an act of betrayal against mankind and disobedience to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds.[2]
