Encouragement for Pious Deed No. 6

Dear Islamic brothers! To develop a passion for reciting the Quran and engaging in other righteous deeds, come to the religious environment of Dawat-e-Islami and participate in its 12 Islamic Activities.

You can also fill in the 72 Pious Deeds booklet given to us by Mawlana Ilyas Attar al-Qādirī. From the 72 good deeds listed inside this, Pious Deed No. 6 asks us:

Did you read or listen to at least three verses from Kanz-ul-Īmān with Khazāˈin al-ꜤIrfān or Nur al-ꜤIrfān along with their translation and commentary today? Or, did you read or listen to at least two pages from Ṣirāṭ al-Jinān?

By acting upon this pious deed, you will not only get the opportunity to recite the Quran, but also understand its meaning by reading its commentary. So, practice these pious deeds yourself and encourage others to do the same!

Sunan and manners of shaking hands

Dear Islamic brothers! Let us now discuss some sunan and manners of shaking hands. These points were extracted from the book of Mawlana Muhammad Ilyas Attar al-Qādirī, 101 Madani Pearls.

Let us begin with two hadith of the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم:

1.    When two Muslims meet, shake hands, and ask about each other’s well-being; Allah sends a hundred mercies between them, ninety-nine of which are for he who greeted his brother more heartily and inquired of the other’s health in a good way.[1]
