Book Name:Faizan e Rabi Ul Akhir
O devotees of Ghaus-ul-A’zam! There are many lessons for us in the narration that has just been mentioned. Just look! On one side is our Ghaus ul-A’zam رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه, who practiced unmatched altruism and self-sacrifice in relation to food and money despite being in extreme state of hunger and need. And on the contrary, our state is such that remaining hungry is too farfetched, if supposedly, rice and Biryani of Giyarveen was placed in front of us, we become so greedy that we feel like eating the entire tray of food ourselves, never mind the meat, others shouldn’t even get a single grain of rice.
O devotees of Ghaus-ul-A’zam! If you ever happen to eat while sitting with others and the greed of swallowing big morsels of food without chewing and pulling all the best pieces of meat towards yourself ever overcomes you, then remember the aforementioned narration of your guide, Ghaus-ul-A’zamرَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه , as well as the following saying of our master, the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.
The final Prophet of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated: ‘Allah Almighty forgives the person who gives what he needs himself to another person.’ (Ithaf-us-Sadat, vol. 9, p. 779)
Besides this, in the first volume of Faizan-e-Sunnat, page 482, this statement of Sayyiduna Abu Sulayman رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه has also been mentioned: ‘To abstain from fulfilling one desire of Nafs is more beneficial for the heart than 12 months of fasting and worship of nights.’ (Ihya-ul-‘Uloom, vol. 3, p. 118)
