Book Name:Aaqa Ka Safar e Meraj

On the night that I was taken on the MiꜤrāj, I saw [the following] written on the door of Paradise: “The reward of ṣadaqah is tenfold, and the reward for a loan is eighteen-fold.” I asked Jibril عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام, “Why is a loan better than ṣadaqah?”

He replied, “The one who asks [for money] has wealth yet still asks, but the one who asks for a loan only asks out of need.”[1]

Encouragement to spend in the way of Allah

Dear Islamic brothers, we learn two things from the above-mentioned hadith: the first is that whilst making additional good intentions alongside wanting to please Allah, we should lend money to a Muslim who is in need of it. The second thing we learn is that the one who spends in the way of Allah Almighty is given ten-fold reward.

For gaining the motivation to spend in the way of Allah Almighty, let us listen to eight further Hadith regarding the virtues of ṣadaqah.

1.   “Ṣadaqah closes 70 doors of evil.”[2]

2.   “Every person will be in the shade of his ṣadaqah (on the Day of Judgement) until judgement is made between the people.”[3]

3.   “Indeed, those who give ṣadaqah, it protects them from the heat of the grave. And every Muslim will certainly be in the shade of his ṣadaqah on the Day of Judgement.”[4]
