An esteemed night full of blessings

O devotees of the Prophet! Tonight is the 27^th of Rajab al-Murajjab 1444 AH, i.e. the Night of MiꜤrāj. We thank Allah Almighty that He allowed us to witness this virtuous, blessed and sacred night once again.

اَلْـحَمْـدُ لـِلّٰـه Tonight is the esteemed night of MiꜤrāj, in which the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم   was granted a great miracle. It was on this night that the leader of all angels, Sayyidunā Jibrīl عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام came to the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم   with an extremely fast conveyance known as “Burāq”. The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم   was seated upon the Burāq with utmost honour and travelled in one night from Makkah al-Mukarramah to Bayt al-Maqdis, where he صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم   was welcomed. The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم   also led all the prophets in salah.

It was on this night that the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم   traversed the heavens, witnessed its wonders, and met the noble Prophets عَـلَـيْهِمُ السَّلَام in each heaven. On this night, the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم   also visited Sidrat al-Muntahā, and after arriving there, Sayyidunā Jibrīl عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام excused himself from going any further. It was on this night that the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم   went to such a place that is incomprehensible, and he was granted special bounties.

The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم   was initially gifted 50 prayers by Allah Almighty, and these were gradually reduced until five prayers were made obligatory (farḍ) upon us. It was tonight that the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم   saw Paradise and Hell. It was on this night that he attained special proximity to Allah Almighty and saw Him. Let us listen to some faith-refreshing and interesting aspects regarding the Night of MiꜤrāj.
