Book Name:Aaqa Ka Safar e Meraj

As its speed is swift like lightning and its colour dazzling white, it is known as Burāq. The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم   rode it on the Night of MiꜤrāj and will do so on the Day of Judgement too. It should be noted that every Prophet will have a Burāq as a means of transport in Paradise, but the Burāq of the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم   will be the most superior, and it is this very same Burāq.

Mufti Aḥmad Yār Khān NaꜤīmī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه further comments:

(The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم   said:) “I did not mount it myself, rather, I was made to ride upon it,” and it was Sayyidunā Jibrīl عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام who mounted him upon it. Sayyidunā Jibrīl عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام took hold of its stirrup and Mīkāˈīl عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام grasped its bridle; it was with such grandeur that the Prophet’s conveyance rode forth. It should be noted that for the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم    to mount the Burāq was to display grandeur, just as a bridegroom sits on a horse whilst the participants in the marriage procession travel by foot, and just as the horse travels at a slow pace, this was also a slow pace of the Burāq.[1]

The blessed conveyances on the Night of Mirāj

Imam ꜤAlāˈī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه mentions:

The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم  had five types of conveyances on the Night of MiꜤrāj: (1) the Burāq (from Makkah) till Bayt al-Maqdis (2) stairs of light from Bayt al-Maqdis till the worldly sky (3) the wings of angels from the first heaven to the seventh heaven (4) the wings of Sayyidunā Jibrīl  عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام from the seventh heaven till
