The remaining sunan and etiquettes of sleeping and waking up

*    Remember Allah Almighty and busy yourself in praising Him until you fall asleep (i.e. recite لَا اِلٰہَ اِلاَّ اللہُ, سُبْحٰنَ اللہِ and اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰہِ). One awakens in the state that he sleeps, and he will be raised on the Day of Judgement in the state he dies.[1]

*    Recite this duāˈ after awaking: اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰہِ الَّذِیْۤ اَحْیَانَا بَعْدَ مَآ اَمَا تَنَا وَاِلَیْہِ النُّشُوْر Translation: “All praise is for Allah, the One who has given us life after death, and to Him is the return.”[2]

*    Before sleeping, make a firm intention to adopt piety and to not harm anyone.[3]

*    When children reach the age of 10, they should be made to sleep separately. In fact, a boy of this age should not sleep with another male of the same age or older.[4]

*    When husband and wife sleep in the same bed, they should not have a child aged 10 or above sleep with them. When a boy
