when Allah Almighty is with him, the angels are with him, Jibrīl عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم and Mīkāˈīl عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم are with him, Abū Bakr رَضِىَ اللهُ عَـنْهُ is with him, Sayyidunā ꜤUmar رَضِىَ اللهُ عَـنْهُ himself is with him, and all the Muslims are with him.

When ꜤUmar رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ said these words to comfort the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, Allah Almighty revealed this verse affirming ꜤUmar’s words:[1]

فَاِنَّ اللّٰہَ  ھُوَ مَوْلٰىہُ  وَ جِبْرِیْلُ وَ صَالِحُ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ ۚ

then surely Allah Himself is his Helper as well as Jibrīl, the righteous believers.[2]

Commenting on this verse, Imam Jalāl al-Dīn al-Suyūṭī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه states, “صَالِحُ الْمؤْمِنِیْنَ اَبُوْ بَکْرٍ وَّ عُمَرَ, meaning, the righteous believers in this verse refers to Sayyidunā Abū Bakr and Sayyidunā ꜤUmar رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهُمَا.”[3]

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                     صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

A brief introduction to Sayyidunā Umar رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهُ

Dear Islamic brothers, Sayyidunā ꜤUmar رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ was an esteemed Companion. He is known as ꜤUmar on the earth and as Fārūq in the heavens. In the Torah, he is referred to as Manṭiq al-Ḥaqq (one who speaks the truth). His name in the Injeel is Kāfī. His name in Paradise will be Sirāj.[4] In 583 CE, he was born in Makkah al-Mukarramah, 41 years prior to the Hijra to Madinah al-Munawwarah. He accepted Islam in the 6th year after the declaration of prophethood in 614 CE. The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم supplicated for his acceptance of Islam, which is
