Book Name:اِنَّا لِلّٰہ Parhnay Ki Barkatein
said, ‘When a person’s child passes away, Allah Almighty asks the angels, “Did you seize the soul of My slave’s child?” The angels reply, “Yes.” Allah Almighty says, “Did you take away the apple of his eye?” The angels respond, “Yes.” Allah Almighty says, “What did My slave say?” The angels reply, “He praised you and said اِنَّا لِلّٰہِ وَ اِنَّا اِلَیْہِ رَاجِعُوْن.” Allah Almighty declares, “Create a home in Paradise for My slave and name it the House of Praise (Bayt al-Ḥamd).”’ [1]
سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه! What a great blessing this is. It is Allah Almighty who gave the son in the first place, the son was under His ownership, and it is He who took him back. The slave just displays patience, recites اِنَّا لِلّٰہ, and what does he receive in return? A special home will be made for him in Paradise which is known as the House of Praise.
O devotees of the Prophet! If a child, relative or dear friend passes away, we must be patient, because if we display impatience, pull our hair, scream and create a commotion, what will this achieve? The one who has departed cannot return again, and we will also lose the reward of patience if we do this. Therefore, we should recite اِنَّا لِلّٰہ. We will attain abundant reward, and اِنْ شَآءَ اللہُ, we will become worthy of Paradise.
