Book Name:اِنَّا لِلّٰہ Parhnay Ki Barkatein

2.   He صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم also said, “Whosoever made ablution in a good manner and then visited his Muslim brother with the intention of reward, he will be distanced from Hell by 70 years.” [1]

*    Visiting the ill is a sunnah of the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.

*    If you are aware that visiting an ailing person will make them feel uncomfortable, then do not go.[2]

*    If you have some grievance in your heart against the sick person or do not agree with his demeanour, still visit him.

*    Visit the ill with the intention of acting upon the Sunnah. If your intention of visiting him is that he visits you when you fall sick, then you will not be rewarded.

*    If you visit someone and their illness is severe, do not mention things that will frighten them, such as, “You are in a really bad state,” and do not shake your head in such a way that indicates this either.

*    When visiting a sick or grief-stricken person, display signs of sadness on your face.

*    You should not speak in such a manner that gives the ailing person or his family the impression that you are pleased at their hardship.

*    Show sympathy towards the family members too, and offer any assistance you can.
