Book Name:Asmani Kitabon Mein Naat e Mustafa
Indeed there has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book.[1]
According to Imam al-Baghawī, Imam Jalāl al-Dīn al-Suyūṭī, Imam al-Rāzī, Imam al-Ṣāwī, Imam Mullā ꜤAlī al-Qārī, Imam Maḥmūd al-Ālūsī رَحِمَهُمُ الـلّٰـهُ, and many other Quranic commentators: the word nūr, i.e. light, in this verse, refers to the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.[2]
In fact, the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم referred to himself as a light. Just as the teacher of Imam al-Bukhārī and Imam Muslim, Imam ꜤAbd al-Razzāq رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه narrates from Sayyidunā Jābir رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ that he said: “I asked the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم about the thing Allah Almighty created first. The Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم replied, ‘ہُوَ نُورُ نَبِیِّکَ یَاجَابِرُ – It is the light of your Prophet, O Jābir!’”[3]
O Master, whose light has covered us?
The commentator of Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Imam Aḥmad b.
When Allah Almighty created our Prophet’s light, He commanded it to look at the lights of all the noble Prophets, then Allah Almighty covered the lights of all the Prophets with the light of our Prophet They asked, “O Master, whose light has covered us?”
Allah Almighty replied:
“This is the light of Muhammad b. ꜤAbdullāh صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.”[4]
