صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                     صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

The Mighty Messengers:

Dear Islamic brothers! All Prophets and Messengers عَـلَـيْـهِمُ الـصَّلٰوةُ وَالـسَّـلَام were strong, resilient, and courageous. They all displayed exemplary patience and endurance in the face of hardships.

From these illustrious personalities, there are five Messengers whose patience in the path of truth surpassed all others. They are known as the Messengers of Ulu al-ʿAzm, and they comprise of:

Our master Muhammad صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم

Ibrāhīm عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم

Mūsā عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم

ʿĪsā عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم

Nūḥ عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم

The Quran mentions these sacred individuals specifically:

وَ اِذْ اَخَذْنَا مِنَ النَّبِیّٖنَ مِیْثَاقَہُمْ وَ مِنْکَ وَ مِنْ نُّوْحٍ وَّ اِبْرٰہِیْمَ وَ مُوْسٰی وَ عِیْسَی ابْنِ مَرْیَمَ ۪ وَ اَخَذْنَا مِنْہُمْ مِّیْثَاقًا غَلِیْظًا ۙ﴿۷)

Dear Beloved Prophet,˺ remember when We took, from the Prophets, their oath and from you and from Nū, Ibrahīm, Mūsā, and ʿĪsā son of Maryam; We took a firm oath from them.[1]
