even gave this water to their animals, such was the amount. This miraculous flow of water continued for forty years.

3. The splitting of the sea

As Mūsā عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم led the Banī Isrāˈīl out of Egypt, he encountered a sea on his way. Allah Almighty commanded him to strike it with his staff. As soon as he did so, it split and revealed 12 pathways, and the Banī Isrāˈīl were able to use them to cross to the other side safely.

When Firʿawn arrived soon after and saw these 12 pathways, he and his army began crossing the sea using them. Yet, when they reached the middle, the waters suddenly surged back to as it was and the paths disappeared. Firʿawn and his army then drowned in the sea.[1]

O those who love Allah’s Messenger! Alongside his blessed staff, the holy hand of Mūsā عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم was also a miracle itself. Let’s discuss this in detail.

Mūsā’s miraculous hand

Mūsā عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم would place his holy hand into the collar opening of his clothing and position it just below his underarm. As soon as he took it out, it would shine brightly and vividly. When placing his hand back into his collar, it then returned to its original state.

This miracle has been mentioned multiple times in the holy Quran. For example:
