Book Name:Kamyab Tajir Kay Ausaf
beloved Prophet, the Final Messenger of Allah, the Seal of the Prophets صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم blessed the profession of trade.[1]
Dear Islamic brothers! We learn that the noble Prophets عَـلَـيْهِمُ السَّلَام also adopted trade and other industries to attain halal sustenance. There is no doubt that the noble Prophets عَـلَـيْهِمُ السَّلَام are free of every sin and evil. If it was necessary to adopt evil and sin when doing trade or if it carried any flaw in it, then the Prophets عَـلَـيْهِمُ السَّلَام would have never chosen this line of work. The truth is that evil does not exist in trade, rather, evil traits exist in our characters.
The shariꜤah has clearly told us what is permissible, impermissible, halal and haraam so no Muslim is subject to oppression and the rights of people are not suppressed. Hence, those who act upon these teachings will be successful in this world and the Hereafter. The people who disregard these teachings following their nafs without being regardful of halal and haram will be unsuccessful in both worlds.
Muftī Aḥmad Yār Khān NaꜤīmī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه writes in his book “Islāmī Zindagī”:
Staying unemployed is a crime and adopting impermissible profession is a greater crime. Allah Almighty has given us limbs to work, not to remain useless. Similarly, adopting disrespectful professions are disliked, like holding back grain when there is a need for it. Business with haram items is haram, like music, dance, etc. This also includes being employed to give false testimonies. Likewise, business involving alcohol, in any form or way, is also impermissible.[2]
