3. If this man has left his home in search of sustenance (in order to refrain from asking others or consuming haram), then this is in the way of Allah.
4. However, if he has left his home out of pride, then he is upon the path of the Devil.[1]
Dear Islamic brothers! Travelling in search of sustenance for your parents and family is an act of great excellence. So much so, the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stated that such a person is upon the path of Allah.
Remember! The one who is truthful, honest, fair, and keeps the matters of halal and haram in mind whilst working or carrying out business is not only beloved to Allah, but will اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه also be raised with the righteous in the Hereafter. On the Day of Judgement, they will be forgiven and their faces will shine like the full moon.
To enlighten the importance of trade further, below are four statements of the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم in regards to the blessings of earning halal sustenance.
4 Sayings of the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم on the Blessings of Earning a Livelihood
اَلتَّاجِرُ الصَّدُوْقُ الْاَمِیْنُ مَعَ النَّبِیِّیْنَ وَالصِّدِّیْقِیْنَ وَالشُّھَدَاء .1 A truthful and honest trader will be with the prophets, siddīqīn and martyrs.[2]
اِنَّ اللهَ یُحِبُّ الْمُؤْمِنَ الْمُحْتَرِفَ .2 Indeed, Allah loves the believer who works.[3]
